Norwegian police have dramatically found and detonated a cache of bombs as they carried out an investigation on a farm Anders Behring Breivik rented recently.

Police are searching for further clues about Breivik, the man who confessed to committing the horrific shootings and bombing last week that killed 76 people in Oslo and the nearby Utoya Island.

Police did not confirm what type of explosives they were or how many were discovered on the farm.

“Explosives were found on the farm,” said police spokeswoman Trine Dyngeland to AFP. “We thought it better not to move them and they were destroyed on the spot in a controlled explosion.”

Breivik had supposedly rented the farm in north Oslo to grow vegetables. Officials also believe he created the bomb that killed eight people in Oslo last week on this farm.

Breivik admitted to planning and committing the attacks at a court hearing Monday.

He was sentenced to eight weeks solitary detention where he will be unable receive mail or have any visitors aside from his lawyer Geir Lippestad.

Lippestad made a statement Tuesday claiming that his client has asked him how many people he killed in the massacre. He said that Breivik was unable to remember due to the drugs he took before carrying out the attack.

Before shooting down 76 people, Breivik reportedly swallowed a cocktail of drugs known as an ‘ECA stack’ in order to keep him strong and alert. He claims the drugs caused him to lose count of how many people he killed.

The cocktail included ephedrine, a drug used by athletes to stimulate them and improve their performance, along with caffeine and aspirin.

Breivik claims the ephedrine rush increased his aggressiveness, physical performance and mental focus.

Lippestad branded his client insane finally adding the Breivik claims “he is in a war and he believes that when you are in a war you can do things like that without pleading guilty.”
