Nurses Week 2013 Starts Today

Monday has arrived with Nurse's Week, where registered nurses are being honored across the world during the week-long celebration.

Each year since 1994, Nurses Week has taken place from May 6 to May 12. Celebrations come to an end on the birthday of Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing, who was born in 1820.

The week will see celebrations of the professional caregivers with events such as National School Nurse Day and National Student Nurses Day, both of which occur on Wednesday.
