Obama's Uncle in Court for Drunk Driving Charge

President Barack Obama's uncle will be back in court today to answer charges of drunken driving. His lawyer is expected to ask the judge to dismiss the results of a blood-alcohol test and statements he made to police.

Onyango Obama, the half-brother of the president's late father, was arrested in Framingham, Mass., last August. A police officer pulled him for failing to come to a complete stop at a stop sign.

Reports indicate that he made a so-called rolling stop, almost crashing his vehicle into a police cruiser, according to CBS.

The police reports states that the 67-year-old registered a 0.14 on the blood-alcohol test which is almost double the legal limit of .08. Obama pleaded not guilty to all charges.

"The male would not allow me to speak and continued to interrupt me," wrote the arresting officer in his report.

Obama "continued arguing the point with me. He felt that his 'stop' was adequate enough, though he did acknowledge that he should have yielded to me as I was in a main lane of travel that he was attempting to enter," according to the officer.

The report stated the officer asked Obama how much alcohol he had consumed. The officer allegedly told Obama that there was strong odor of alcohol on him to which he admitted he had only one beer.

The officer then reportedly told him that his behavior was indicative an intoxicated individual, Obama then admitted to consuming two beers.

During a field sobriety test the officer said Obama disobeyed orders and begin the test before being instructed to do so. When asked to perform a nine-step walk, the officer allegedly witnessed Obama stumble and struggled to keep himself upright.

A judge is expected to hear arguments Thursday on a motion to suppress statements he made to police and the test results.
