Octomom Rehab Decision an Attempt to Break Away From Kids?

Nadya Suleman has been facing apparent troubles with raising her 14 children. After concerns were raised by her father regarding her drinking and driving with the children, a second report ran stating that the Octomom had checked herself into rehab. Some, however, have questioned the mother's intentions and believe she is looking for an escape.

Suleman checked herself into rehab, alleging that she was tired of taking prescription medicines in order to deal with the stress and anxiety in her life. After admitting the she had become addicted to Xanax, she checked herself into the Chapman House Drug Rehabilitation Center in Southern California over the weekend, according to the report.

"Nadya wanted to get off the Xanax she was prescribed by her doctor and learn to deal with her stress, exhaustion and anxiety with professional help with a team of doctors," a rep for Suleman told TMZ.

In August, Suleman's father expressed concern over the fact that Suleman had begun a drinking habit.

"Sometimes she starts drinking vodka, whatever, so maybe she should not be driving," he said in a voicemail to a woman responsible for caring for Suleman's younger children. "She cannot drive the kids and drive herself and drive back here."

Suleman's rep stated that she was checking herself into rehab in order to what is best for her kids.

"Nadya wanted to deal with her issues and make sure she is the best mother she can be," said the rep.

But this is not the first time that Suleman's intentions have been questioned.

"Nice way to 'Have a break' from the tribe," Regina Phylange wrote on the TMZ blog. "There are no words."

Suleman's intentions were also questioned when she made the decision to film an adult video for money.

"Society's opinion aside, one thing Suleman shouldn't be so sure about is how her young family will be affected by the often-extreme measures she takes to provide for them," Forbes magazine suggested.

Suleman has made herself an open target in regards to being considered an unfit parent. Beginning with her decision to have more children, when she was already struggling to provide for the six children she had, and ending in leaving all 14 of those children in another person's care, the Octomom continues to make what appear to be "selfish" decisions, according to some.
