Ohio State Buckeyes vs Iowa State Cyclones will take place in the NCAA 2013 tournament third round on Sunday as March Madness continues with the final day of third round games. This match up should be an intriguing one with Ohio State looking to push on towards the latter stages of the tournament this year. The game is scheduled to tip off at 12.15 p.m. ET and can be watched online through free live stream (details below).
The No. 2 seeded Buckeyes managed to claim a good win in the second round on Friday against No. 15 seeded Iona. Forward Sam Thompson led the way and proved that he is ready to step up on the big stage this year with career highs in both points and rebounds in the game. Also forward Deshaun Thomas managed to record 24 points to help them to a comfortable win.
The Buckeyes are now on the back of a nine game win streak, including three straight victories in the Big 10 Conference Tournament. Also three of those wins came against teams ranked in the top 10 in the nation, including Michigan State.
Iowa State are ranked No. 10 for the competition and they managed a good 76-57 win over Notre Dame in the second round, dominating their more favored opposition to claim an upset. In that game 19 points from forward Georges Niang and 17 from forward Melvin Jim helped them secure the win.
However, today's match up will be much more difficult and some are saying that Iowa State's offense will struggle against the competent and strong defense of Ohio State. If they are to win and cause another upset today they will have to take down one of the top teams in this year's competition.
