A former girlfriend of O.J. Simpson has been arrested on charges of stealing pain medication from a patient who was in her care.
Christina Michelle Prody, 37, is accused of stealing the pain medication from the home of a Minnesota couple where she was working as a nurse's aide, according to CBS.
Media reports state that Prody's patient's wife first noticed that nearly 300 tablets of his prescription oxycodone were missing two months ago.
According to court documents, the wife installed a surveillance camera that recorded Prody stealing other medication while she was supposed to be caring for her patient.
The video allegedly shows Prody stealing morphine and Iorazepam, and according to court records Prody explained to investigators that she took the pills to feed her addiction, The Forum has stated.
Prody was charged earlier this week with six counts including burglary, theft and drug possession. There is no word as of yet if she was able to post bail, but calls to her public defender went unanswered.
Prody was involved in a 13 year relationship with Simpson after he was found not guilty for the murder of his ex-wife Nicole and her friend Ron Goldman in 1994.
Simpson was sentenced to 33 years in jail for his role in a 2007 incident in which he was arrested for armed robbery and kidnapping.
Simpson claimed that he was at the hotel room to retrieve belongings that he thought were his including sports memorabilia and jewelry.
When Simpson addressed the court during his sentencing he said: "In no way did I mean to hurt anybody, to steal anything from anyone."
He continued: "I didn't want anybody else's stuff. I just wanted my own. I realize that I was stupid. I am sorry. I didn't know that I was doing anything illegal. I thought I was retrieving property from friends. I'm sorry, I'm sorry for all of it."
