Oklahoma City Thunder vs Memphis Grizzlies takes place in the NBA Playoffs Game 4 on Monday night, with the Thunder desperate to rally and pull the series back all square at 2-2. The game is scheduled to tip off at about 9.30 p.m. ET and can be watched online through free live stream (details below).
The Grizzles took a 2-1 lead in the series with an 87-81 win on Saturday night. In that game, Thunder star man Kevin Durant cut a despondent figure, as he ran tirelessly to try and almost single-handedly stop the Grizzlies and drag his teammates to the win. His efforts fell just short, and the game highlighted the fact that other players in the Oklahoma team desperately need to step up and offer their main man the support he needs.
Durant finished with 25 points on 9 for 19 shooting after starting 6 for 8. He also had 11 rebounds and five assists. He also logged 45 minutes and 44 seconds, and went 2 for 5 from the free throw line in the second half.
Grizzlies coach Lionel Hollins summed things up after that game saying, "You can't stop Kevin Durant, he's a great player, but he played 45, 46 minutes and he's asked to carry a huge load for them. As the game goes on other people for them, they start taking the load away from him a little bit, but I don't think that we can stop him. I'm not attributing it to us."
However, most analysts are brutal in their assessment – unless the Thunder can support Durant better they could be on their way out at this semifinal point.
In this series against the Grizzles, Durant is averaging 32.0 points on 33 for 66 shooting from the floor. The rest of the Thunder are 62 for 172 (36.0 percent).
Most of the Thunder team have cracked under the strong Memphis defense, and the team is averaging just 85.6 points, which is 20 below their season average. Unless they can improve tonight they could be left on the brink.
