Despite that result this will be the Cowboy's 25th visit to the NCAA tournament, although in recent years they have not had a good time. They have not gotten beyond the second round since 2005.

They come up today against the No. 12 seeded Oregon Ducks, who finished joint second in the Pac 12 regular season. The Ducks had the best overall record in the conference, causing an upset when they beat UCLA 78-69 in the tournament finale.

Carlos Emory and Johnathan Loyd will be big players for Oregon today. They scored a combined total of 39 points and four turnovers in the game against UCLA, and have proven they are players who can step up for the big games.

The winner of today's match up between the Cowboys and the Ducks will move to the third round to face the winner of No. 4 Saint Louis vs. No. 13 New Mexico State.
