Oklahoma Wesleyan University Receives $150,000 Gift from Investment Foundation

Oklahoma Wesleyan University recently received a $150,000 gift from the Wesleyan Investment Foundation (WIF), which was made possible through the generosity of an estate gift to WIF.

According to the evangelical Christian university in Bartlesville, Okla., a donor and friend of OWU gave real estate to WIF and directed the liquidation to be disbursed among several Wesleyan establishments. OWU said they felt blessed to have been counted as one of the beneficiaries of this generous gift and thanked WIF for the generous contribution.

“This most recent gift of $150,000 is but one more example of God’s affirmation of OWU and our mission,” said OWU President Everett Piper, according to the university. “As we stand boldly for the primacy of Jesus Christ, the priority of Scripture, the pursuit of Truth and the practice of wisdom, we will continue to benefit from such loyal donors. If someone believes in what OWU is doing, there aren’t that many other colleges left to support.”

Founded by the Wesleyan Church to provide higher education within a Christian environment for Wesleyan youth, Oklahoma Wesleyan University is “a place of serious study, honest questions, and critical engagement, all in the context of a liberal arts community that honors the primacy of Jesus Christ, the priority of Scripture, the pursuit of Truth, and the practice of Wisdom,” according to Piper.

Oklahoma Wesleyan has received recognitions from such organizations as U.S. News & World Report, CBN News, and PBS TV. The university is also fully accredited by NCATE, CCNE, IACBE, and NCA.
