'Once Upon A Time' Comic-Con Updates: 'Brave' Character Merida in Season 5, Jennifer Morrison Talks Dark Swan

Things are about to get even more exciting when the fifth season of ABC's hit fantasy TV drama series "Once Upon A Time" arrives to the small screens.

A report from Entertainment Weekly revealed that "Brave" is coming to OUAT and the lead character Merida will be played by the Scottish actress, Amy Manson.

A special sneak peek was spotted during the show's panel at the recently held San Diego Comic-Con 2015 event. It featured the recognizable red-head heroine effortlessly hitting the bullseye of a target. The feisty young princess stepped further back and once again hits the mark, splitting the first arrow. She then pulls out her hood to reveal herself.

Fans were also treated with the details about the show's central character Emma Swan (Jennifer Morrison).

It was revealed in the next clip that season 5 will find the Dark Swan imprisoned in the Enchanted Forest. Shown with a slicked back hair and glittering skin, a robed servant approached the shockingly beautiful prisoner.

"They said you were a monster," he said.

"Only on the inside," Emma said as he reached out to the man standing outside her cell to rip out his heart and crush it.

"I'm really excited. As an actor to start season five of a show doing something brand new is exciting…" Morisson said during the panel.

"There is some fun to the villainy, I've spent the whole hiatus digging out my thoughts about it… Emma went through a lot in her life, she's always tried to be a good person and now she's tethered to the darkness she's free of that. I feel like she's going to face some of the darkness and figure out how to overcome it and not just suppress it."

"Once Upon a Time" Season 5 kicks off Sunday, Sept. 27, at 8 p.m. on ABC.
