Once Upon a Time Season 4 Premiere Date, Plot Spoilers: Frozen's Elsa and Anna Visit Storybrooke

"Once Upon A Time," an American fairy tale drama series on the ABC channel is scheduled to premiere its fourth season on Sept. 28 later this month. The series was renewed on May 8 earlier this year.

The series generally revolves around a fictional seaside town of Storybrooke, Maine where residents are various fairy tale characters brought from the fairy tale world into the real world. These characters take the form of a real person and have had their real memories stripped from them by a powerful curse.

The fairy tale characters are usually well-known ones like Snow White and the Evil Queen, Prince Charming, Red Riding Hood, and Pinocchio. For the fourth season though, characters from the highly popular Disney film, "Frozen," will be making their transfer to the real world. The focus though seems to be at the villain Elizabeth Mitchell.

Co-executive producer Adam Horowitz recently opened up about Mitchell's role in Season 4.

"For the first time, we're showing a villainous side to Elizabeth Mitchell. There's a dark side that Elizabeth is accessing and she's doing so in chilling fashion," Horowitz said.

As for how much of the "Frozen" universe the show will be taking, Horowitz has said that they've been trying to walk the line between what they feel is appropriate for the show or what is not.

"What we want to do is make loving nods to the movie and things that are iconic, but we don't want to do it in a way where we're making Elsa say catchphrases for the sake of it," Horowitz explained.

"We want it to feel organic to the show and also want to give fans of Frozen payoffs to the thing that they love most. Our hope is that if you watch, you'll see that there are nods to many things from the movie as well," he added.
