"[The show] has taken her back to 1920s England and that's where the tale begins as a young woman," the actress told the publication. "She's got this history with the Author that will play out. [He] and Cruella have a life they've lived and he holds something over Cruella that she wants."

The synopsis for the upcoming episode posted on the Futon Critic meanwhile indicates that Cruella's mother has been terrorizing her in the past using her Dalmatian dogs. Confined in an attic, the young Cruella (played by Mili Wilkinson) will meet a "mysterious stranger" who empowers her to challenge her mother.
