According to the International Business Times, Hook will be resurrecting all the Dark Ones that have existed, even Merlin's (Elliot Knight) former love, Nimue (Caroline Ford.) The website added that Emma is torn between saving her family members and loved ones, and killing Hook to stop him from "sucking out all the light" from Storybrooke. The article also said that the winter finale will bridge the story of first and second half of "Once Upon a Time" season 5, which is said to be going "Greek."

In the sneak peek released for the next episode, which is titled "Swan Song," Nimue is seen saying to Hook that he knows "what he should do." Emma's family was seen surrounded by the former Dark Ones that were resurrected by Hook, but Emma said "You're not going to take the people I love."
