Who Will Save Emma From the Darkness in Once Upon A Time?

The last few moments in the season 4 finale of the hit fantasy TV drama series "Once Upon a Time" sent a wave of shock to fans who were utterly surprised with the turnout of events.

With the hopes to save Regina (Lana Parilla) and give her the happy ending she deserved, the town's savior, Emma Swan (Jennifer Morrison) sacrificed her own soul and became the new Dark One.

Needless to say, Emma's transformation from the heroic woman that she was to an evil one will certainly affect everyone in Storybrooke. The role reversal will consequently make the Madam Mayor the hero. It remains to be seen as to what lengths will Regina have to go to preserve the town from the evils in the next chapter.

As for the Dark Swan, followers of the fairy tale show need not to worry about that she'd be engulfed forever.

A report from Zap2it cited several statements from series creators Adam Horowitz and Eddie Kitsis teasing that Emma will eventually get back to the right path.

The upcoming Season 5 will focus on the struggle to bring Emma back to light where she belongs to.

The people who will be there to help her includes Emma's son Henry (Jared S. Gilmore), Robin Hood (Colin O' Donoghue), her mother Snow White (Ginnifer Goodwin) and of course her friend Regina.

Although the plots of Season 5 haven't yet been laid out, "OUAT" writers have already discussed the theme to which the next installment will center on.

"We start with a theme we want to explore and go from there," Horowitz said. "We've done our mini-camp. We actually have the next month so we like to sit for the next month and ask 'Does it still hold true?'"

"Once Upon a Time" Season 5 is slated to return to ABC in September.
