'Once Upon a Time' Season 7 Episode 4 Spoilers: Belle and Rumple's Story to Be Explored, Hook's Motivation Discussed

After the big Hook (Colin O'Donoghue) revelation in last week's installment of "Once Upon a Time" season 7, the show co-creators spoke more about what to expect of the character moving forward.

It turns out that the Hook in the first two episodes of the new season is actually Wish Hook and not the original Hook that fans have been following since the second season.

In an interview with TVLine, showrunner Adam Horowitz talked about the twist and the motivation Wish Hook, who goes by the name Rogers, has in "Once Upon a Time" season 7.

Wish Hook's path to redemption in Hyperion Heights is about finding this daughter and reuniting with her, and healing his poisoned heart. In Hyperion Heights, he doesn't know he has a missing daughter or who he is, but this missing girl case is the analog for the missing daughter in the fairy tale realm.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, O'Donoghue discussed the challenge and the fun of making Wish Hook both different and similar with Hook prime.

It's been fascinating to try and explore how to make Wish Hook the same as the other version of Hook that I played. That's been a big thing for me for the season is trying to figure out how do I keep this character similar enough for him to be the same character on the show, but different enough for him to be interesting and kind of new?

Horowitz also confirmed that this will be the only twist that fans should expect in "Once Upon a Time" season 7 as far as the original cast of characters goes.

Rogers is the only one we've done with this. By Episode 4, Weaver being Rumple and all that becomes clear — Regina/Roni and Weaver/Rumple are who they are — and you're going to find out the whole Belle and Rumple story, as well.

Not much about this was teased in the promo for "Once Upon a Time" season 7, episode 3 titled "The Garden of Forking Paths" though.

Instead, the clip simply hints of the much-awaited team-up between Cinderella (Dania Ramirez) and Tiana (Mekia Cox) as the former continues her efforts to break free from Lady Tremaine (Gabrielle Anwar) and her evil ways.

"Once Upon a Time" season 7, episode 3, "The Garden of Forking Paths" on Friday, Oct. 20, at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
