One Direction may never come back together, according to source

Fans are saddened upon hearing the news that their favorite boy band, One Direction, will take a one-year "well-earned" break, as announced last August. Some said that this could be the end for the band, now that its band members are breaking up "temporarily" to pursue their individual careers.

However, Louis Tomlinson, Liam Payne, Niall Horan, and Harry Styles assured their fans on Twitter that they will definitely come back. "Your support is truly indescribable! It's just a break :) we're not going anywhere," Tomlinson even said on his social media account.

However, it was recently posted on The Daily Star that a source told them that One Direction may not even reform next year. The source claims the boy band's team would rather claim "taking a break for a year" than resort to disbanding. According to the post, the announcement was to prevent mass hysteria from fans, just like what happened with "Take That" in 1996. Their official statement might be truthful that the boys just wanted to try going solo, but chances are, they may never come back as a group, according to the source.

Simon Cowell, the band's co-creator, said that their priority is still the welfare of the fans. "We have known about this for about a year and didn't want it to be a massive shock," he said. He told the group to take as much time they want. He even teased them that they'll be coming back with so many great songs waiting for them. "I'd be surprised if any of the four would ever want to walk away from that," he finally said.

One Direction's return will now just boil down to how successful they will be as individual artists, and whether everyone will still commit. "They've agreed it has to be all four or nothing following Zayn's exit," said the source.

The group will take their break by March 2016, according to the Sun.
