One Direction break up news: Band 'break' is not the end
One Direction fans everywhere probably know by now that their all-time favorite boyband is taking an extended hiatus. This news was not received well, as Twitter exploded with worried posts that this "break" is just a prequel to the actual one. However, members of the band immediately spoke out about the issue.
According to US Today, Niall Horan posted on his Twitter, "Ok so Lots of rumours going round. We are not splitting up, but we will be taking a well earned break at some point next year." This is followed by Louis Tomlison tweeting "Your support is truly indescribable! It's just a break. We're not going anywhere!!" Liam Payne then expressed how happy he was that the rumors had already been cleared out and proceeded to thank the fans, as he went, "So glad everything has been cleared up today and ur support with it is amazing not that we could ever expect anything less your amazing So much more to come." Although there are still no words from one member of the group, Harry Styles, it's expected that he will sooner or later reassure fans, as well.
The hiatus is said to have been triggered by the crazy schedule the band has had. E! reports that after Zayn Malik's sudden departure earlier this year, the band has been shaken a bit, which led to a closed-door meeting about the band's future. It's no surprise that fans would be concerned that the remaining four members would also call it quits. An insider for One Direction, however, insists that this is a good time for the band to recollect themselves. If there would be no break, the boys being under extreme pressure with back-to-back commitments may become the reason for their ultimate split.

The boys will be taking the year off to pursue their own interests and focus on their lives for a bit. The insider shared, "They need to grow creatively as artists to continue to be happy together. This is a natural progression for them." Louis is going to be a father to pregnant stylist Briana Jungwirth, there are possibilities that Liam will try his hand at songwriting and producing, Niall's close encounters with Justin Bieber can result to a collaboration, and Harry Styles will apparently just be chilling in his new LA home and probably try acting.
Although the group quartet may be going their own ways for now, the source insists that they are committed to One Direction. "Right now, they have every intention of coming back together. But look, of course there is always a chance that by giving the boys some space, they might enjoy it too much and won't want to get back together. It's a gamble, but right now that scenario is far from their minds."
