Pastors and church leaders throughout the U.S. will descend upon San Diego this week for The Heart Revolution Conference hosted by Cornerstone Church. Attending pastors will be on hand to speak to the next generation of leaders about being an agent of change within their cities for the four-day event beginning Tuesday, Sept. 3.
"The Heart Revolution conference will be a historic moment in the life of pastors and leaders who are hungry for what's now and next in ministry," said Sergio de la Mora, pastor of Cornerstone Church of San Diego.
The annual conference is held with the purpose to ignite an internal change within all participants so they may begin to create a change in their communities. This year, the event will focus on imparting the notion of "set your city on fire," because de la Mora believes cities across the country are "waiting for the church to rise up, take their place and kindle a revival fire that will awaken the hearts of marriages, businesses, and churches."
"A revolution is the result of someone who has set up a standard or a precedence that needs to be overthrown because the people there are being persecuted and filled with pain as a result of the standard," said de la Mora. "They don't have the sense of freedom and liberation and that's what The Heart Revolution is all about, it's about living, loving and leading from your heart."
The event will feature workshops aimed to equip leaders with tools that will challenge them to create an ever changing and growing culture within their own ministries. These sessions will discuss topics on developing a creative worship team and youth ministry, marketing the church, launching a Spanish ministry, creating discipleship programs and more.
In addition, a Passionate Pastors seminar led by Hispanic megachurch pastor Obed Martinez will take place to foster an experience among participants who will learn about initiating change through influence while networking with like-minded leaders.
In the past, the event has rallied renowned evangelists and pastors as keynote speakers, including T.D. Jakes, Art Sepulveda, Rick Warren, Marcos Witt and more. This year, The Heart Revolution will feature international evangelist, Morris Cerullo, Hillsong New York City pastor Carl Lentz, megachurch pastors Chris Hill, Benny Perez and Casey Treat, among others. In addition, National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference (NHCLC) President Samuel Rodriguez will participate as a speaker.
Cornerstone Church of San Diego is the largest Latino-led church in the city with several campuses throughout southern California, Arizona and Mexico. In 2009, Outreach Magazine named it the third fastest growing church in America, and remained in the top 10 list until 2012.
