'One Piece' Chapter 861: Dogtooth Arrives at the Party, Poses New Threat to Assassination Plot

Big Mom's tea party has begun and all her expected guests from the underworld have arrived, including one that poses a serious threat to Bege's Big Mom Assassination Plot.

In the previous chapter of the Japanese manga series, "One Piece," the dignitaries of the underworld gathered on the rooftop of the Whole Cake chateau for Big Mom's grand tea party that would eventually lead to Sanji and Charlotte's much-awaited wedding. Among them was Big Mom's own son, Dogtooth. He serves as one of the three commanders in the Yonkou's army and currently has a 1,057,000,000-berry bounty for good reason.

Out of everyone at the party, Bege was the wariest of Dogtooth's presence, because Big Mom's second son has apparently trained his observation Haki, which has thus given him the ability to see what would happen a little ahead of the present time. He has efficiently demonstrated this by shooting one of his deadly jelly beans through a guest's forehead before said guest could even finish his deceptively harmless but viciously vengeful spiel.

How long will Bege and the rest of their newly formed alliance be able to keep their own vengeful plot against Big Mom from the keenly watchful eyes of Dogtooth? Chapter 861 and all subsequent installments in the ongoing arc will surely be heart-pounding as the Straw Hat-Fire Tank Pirates Alliance execute their plans. Will they be able to leave the island with all of their members intact? Or will Dogtooth, along with Brûlée, who knows everything there is to know about the Big Mom Assassination Plan, mess their plans up midway and put all of their lives on the line?

The wedding is only a few hours away, Bege will soon be compromising Big Mom's security while the Straw Hats are waiting on the wing to lunge in and rescue the Vinsmokes. Jinbe has ordered his people to save themselves and leave the island in the midst of the commotion, while he stands by his captain, Luffy, at the risk of his own life. The biggest battle in Whole Cake island is about to break out, and even up to this point, the Straw Hat-Fire Tank Alliance's chances of success is almost zero to none.

However, some fans are hoping that there is something about this assassination plot that Bege has not divulged yet — a countermeasure should Dogtooth get in their way. But fooling a man who can see into the future, with only a five-second window to execute their killer strike, seems like a long shot. Can the Straw Hats pull through and bring their brand of luck into the battlefield?

A new chapter of "One Piece" comes out in the next issue of the "Weekly Shounen Jump" magazine.

Meanwhile, the manga creator Eiichiro Oda has reportedly revealed his favorite character in his own manga in an interview with "Dragon Ball" creator Akira Toriyama. Although he does feel an affinity for the manga's main character, Luffy, he picked the former pirate turned hermit, Gaimon, as his ultimate favorite.

"It's hard to think of anyone better than him. Just a man who has been stuck in a treasure box for 20 years. I think that was an amazing setup myself," Oda said.

Gaimon was last featured in the manga's 620th chapter, wherein he was seen living happily with a woman trapped in a barrel after the time-skip.
