OnePlus 2 News, Update: New Leaks Hint at 3 Next-Gen Versions, CEO Teases a Full Metal Build

New leaked information pointing towards the upcoming OnePlus 2 indicates that the next-gen flagship from OnePlus could sell three distinct versions. Meanwhile, the company's CEO revealed that the new smartphone will arrive with a metal build.

A report from BGR.com cited a Bluetooth certification site, Bluetooth SIG Listings, saying that the OnePlus One successor might be made available in three different models later this year.

The certification company listed the A2001, A2003, and A2005. The last mentioned model was previously spotted in leaked benchmarks.

The publication went on to specify a new GFXBench listing which indicates that the A2003 will house a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor that will be coupled with a 4GB amount of RAM memory.

Meanwhile, OnePlus CEO Liu Zuohu recently went over to his social media account to tease some details about the company's 2015 flagship.

Over at Chinese website Weibo, Lau indicated that the new handset will come with full metal build. Its predecessor, the OnePlus One came with a polycarbonate body with two back color options, Silk White and Sandstone Black.

As of the moment, there's still no concrete detail as to how the new version of the OnePlus phone will be like. Earlier rumors suggest that it will have a fingerprint scanner and a USB Type-C Connectivity feature.

Regardless of which, fans of the "flagship killer" will be able to take a virtual front seat to witness the unveiling of the OnePlus 2 this July 27 at 7 PM PT/10 PM ET via a livestream event.
