OnePlus 2 News, Update: Next-Gen OnePlus Smartphone to Be Unveiled in Virtual Reality
The hype pointing towards the launching of the OnePlus One successor, OnePlus 2, is getting stronger now that its specific date has already been announced. The Chinese tech company is expected to unveil the upcoming device in a unique way.
A report from GSM Arena claimed that OnePlus 2 will be officially announced on July 27 at 7 PM PT/10 PM ET. According to the publication, the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 810-powered smartphone will be revealed via a virtual reality presentation.
To make this happen, the company will provide a free OnePlus Cardboard headset, which owners of the OnePlus One device can use to watch the streaming session.

They can do so by signing up on their website where the livestream event will take place.
The media outlet further shared images of the VR device which users can assemble fast and easy as it's made from lightweight materials. The paraphernalia is deemed "more compact" than any other brands out there and it is coated with a special film capable of keeping it dirt and soil-free.
As for the highly-anticipated device itself, what has been known is that it will arrive with a USB Type-C connector.
Earlier rumors meanwhile suggest that it will arrive with a 5.5-inch or 6-inch display with 2K resolution glass display. It will also come with a hefty 3GB of RAM and an embedded fingerprint reader touted as "better than Apple's Touch ID."
