OnePlus 5 Specs: Next Flagship to Sport Snapdragon 835 Processor, All-Glass Exterior

While OnePlus' next flagship, OnePlus 5, has no official release date yet, tech enthusiasts expect it to take the world by storm when it hits the market. The smartphone is expected to come with impressive specs and features, making it one of the best smartphones today.

OnePlus 5 will reportedly come with a Snapdragon 835 processor, which is a significant upgrade from the processor of its predecessor, the OnePlus 3T. It will also sport 8 GB of random-access memory (RAM) with a Quad HD active-matrix organic light-emitting diode (AMOLED) display and a dual-curved edge screen.

Recent rumors suggest that the handset will also sport an all-glass design to give its exterior a more premium look. This is contrary to previous reports that the OnePlus 5 will have a ceramic body. If rumors about its all-glass design are true, then tech enthusiasts can expect the new smartphone to resemble Xiaomi's flagship smartphone, the Mi Mix.

For its camera, OnePlus 5 will reportedly feature a 23-megapixel (MP) rear camera for sharper and clearer image capture. It may also feature a USB Type-C port, which is one of the most interesting predictions about the upcoming smartphone.

Rumors suggest that OnePlus 5 will have an IP68 rating, which means that it will be equipped with water and dust protection features. Many high-end smartphones today already have the same rating, so offering an IP68 rating will make OnePlus' next flagship on par with the other existing premium handsets in the market today.

There is no confirmation yet that OnePlus' next flagship is actually OnePlus5. However, tech enthusiasts speculate that the phone manufacturer has decided to make a number skip from its OnePlus 3T predecessor since "4" is an unlucky number as per Chinese tradition.

OnePlus has also not yet announced the features of its new smartphone so tech enthusiasts should take rumors and speculations with a grain of salt.
