OnePlus Announces Unveiling of Mystery Product in April

OnePlus has just announced it is launching a new device next month and it isn't a smartwatch or tablet.

Chinese smartphone company, OnePlus revealed it is unveiling new hardware in April but declined to name the device, saying it is neither another trending smartwatch or a tablet, creating a mystery as to which category the new gadget may belong.

The manufacturer's co-founder, Carl Pei, verified that OnePlus has put plans in motion to introduce their new product in the next few weeks, but begged off on naming it, choosing instead to leave people curious as to what the OnePlus One maker has in store.

With the wealth of intrigue arising from the announcement, device users have been speculating that the new hardware may be anything from a fashionable fitness wearable to an activity tracker, from a VR headset to a media streamer. However, no one but the company knows what it is until its actual launch, or when it shows up on the OnePlus website, and the smartphone maker may surprise everyone with a totally unexpected product no other device manufacturer has thought of.

Apart from the announcement of the mystery device, the smartphone company also confirmed it will be unveiling the much awaited OnePlus Two as a follow up to the runaway success of their OnePlus One, with the official launch date to come between the second or third quarter of the year.

According to rumors, the OnePlus Two will present users with a radically different design, and a possible increase in price point. Whether this change may hurt the overall appeal engendered by its predecessor will only be determined when the company unveils their upcoming flagship smartphone this year.
