OnePlus Two Specs, Release Date: Upcoming Device Rumored To Join USB Type-C Bandwagon

The OnePlus One may already be outdated in terms of specs, but that does not mean it isn't selling well in some Asian markets where it is available. But for people who are holding out for the upcoming successor, a new report suggests that the device would follow the leading trend in the industry.

According to a recent report by GSM Arena, the OnePlus Two will boast the famed USB Type-C port that has been trending in the market nowadays. First popularized by Apple earlier this year, the Type-C port will reportedly enable the device to connect easier to other devices that have the same port.

In fact, after Apple made the USB Type-C port available in its latest 12-inch MacBook 2015, Google has used the same technology for its Chromebook Pixel which was announced just a few weeks later.

OnePlus Two could be among the first smartphones to boast the same USB port, which allows better connectivity, higher data transfer speeds, and fast charging.

In addition to the USB Type-C port, the OnePlus Two smartphone has also been confirmed in an earlier report to pack the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 chipset which supports an octa-core CPU. Because the chipset can handle it, the OnePlus Two may get a whopping 4GB of RAM, although there are no reports yet to confirm these speculations.

In the report, the upcoming OnePlus Two smartphone could be announced in the coming weeks or months, most probably before the heavyweights in the Android industry are unveiled at the IFA event in Berlin.
