OnePlus X Champagne Edition To Be Released Outside Of China

The Chinese smartphone manufacturer, which has been known for its tagline "Never Settle," recently celebrated its second anniversary by announcing that it is bringing the OnePlus X Champagne edition to other markets outside of China. A Tech Times report says that the company will bring the special edition phone to Europe first, with other markets following soon after.

The handset will be made available in White and Gold variants. It was previously launched in China and was originally intended to be a device exclusive to its home market.

The announcement was made via a post in a forum, with OnePlus writing about how the handsets will be sold in Europe initially. The post said that the phones will be "sold during our weekly open sales on a first-come, first-served basis." They also said that consumers who were able to get a hold of an invite to buy the OnePlus X can make use of their invite to get a Champagne edition if they prefer. Their invites can be used on any day they want, says the company, according to the report.

The OnePlus X Champagne edition is essentially the same as the regular OnePlus X. The main difference is its design, as the Champagne edition has a white body which is made of glass and a metallic frame that has a gold/champagne color. According to a Times of India report, it is another variant of the OnePlus Onyx edition which has a glass body with a full black frame.

Under the hood, it is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset paired with 3 GB of RAM. It has a 5-inch Full HD screen with a resolution of 1,080 x 1,920 pixels. Internal storage is available at 16 GB, which is expandable to 128 GB through a microSD card. Its cameras are a 13-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front camera. Connectivity options offered are Wi-Fi, 4G LTE and 3G. Its battery is a 2,525 mAh non-removable battery.

It comes pre-installed with an Android 5.1.1 customized OS, which OnePlus says has a number of improvements. In the company's site in China, the handset is listed at CNY 1,499 or approximately $230.
