Online Help Exchange Site Launches

Oaktree.org has recently been launched as an online exchange that connects people in need of prayers, encouragement and financial help to those willing to provide the help. The site was designed in hopes that the Internet will be used in an altruistic and meaningful way.

"At our core, we are a giant exchange of hope," says Brady Stump, founder of Oaktree.org. Visitors who wish to help another can browse through various requests on the site, and likewise may post their own requests.

"Oaktree.org is different in three main ways. We are completely online, open source and fill a huge needs gap,” Stump says. “The best way to describe being completely online is that, instead of running some huge online exchange between buyers and sellers of goods, we have created an online exchange that facilitates prayers, encouragement and financial help between those in need and those willing to help. By putting the entire process online, we help people get help faster; and ultimately get hope faster!”

By open source Stump means that the entire giving process is laid out for all to see and invites everyone to participate. Public requests are divided into prayer, encouragement, and monetary help categories which are open for anyone to volunteer.

Oaktree.org seeks to fill a “needs gap.” “This is the ultimate goal of the site,” Stump says.
He gives an example of a young amputee looking for encouragement, someone battling that is asking for our prayers or a single mom in need of financial help with buying some clothes for her kids. “Many times, the people in these situations may slip through the gaps of life,” Stump explains. “Oaktree.org seeks to fill this gap.”

Stump has received much support from his local community and church leaders. He hopes that both Christians and non-Christians from all around the world will go on the site with the desire to help one another.

“I just hope that the site can speed up the help and positive vibes to local people faster,” Stump explains. As a Christian, he believes that this is the truest way to express his faith.
