'Orange is the New Black' Season 3 News: Uzo Adoba Wins Emmy, Premiere Coming in 2015

The cast and crew of "Orange is the New Black" were on hand at the 66th Primetime Emmy Awards last Aug. 25 as the show was nominated for a slew of awards.

The show was nominated for Outstanding Comedy Series, and Jodie Foster was also nominated for Outstanding Directing for the show's episode "Lesbian Request Denied." Taylor Schilling was nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy.

But it was Uzo Aduba, who played Suzanne "Crazy Eyes" Warren on the series, who took home the trophy for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series.

In an interview with The Insider after the Emmy Awards, Aduba revealed that she almost quit acting prior to getting the role of Crazy Eyes.

"I remember it was a Friday … I said to myself 'I'm done' [with acting]. I was really at peace with it … Then two hours later, I got the call saying I got the part of Crazy Eyes … and two years later, here we are," she said.

Though there is no word yet as to when the show's third season will premiere, actress Laverne Cox, who plays the transsexual inmate Sophia Burset on the show, assured fans that the third season is well on its way in an interview with MTV News at the Video Music Awards on Sunday.

"We started shooting season three the first week of June. We should be done around the end of this year. It's amazing," said Cox.

"I think more of [what we saw in season two], but what our show does so well is has a balance between the serious and the comedic. If you just exist in tragedy all the time, it's not so fun. I think human beings, to deal with a lot of tragedy, find ways to laugh about it. Find ways to be irreverent and keep their humanity in the face of really inhumane circumstances," she added.

Season 3 of "Orange is the New Black" is slated to premiere in 2015.
