For the Raptors, they are hoping to return to the Playoffs after an impressive showing last year and are looking on pace to do so as they lead the Atlantic Division and are holding off the Boston Celtics, New York Knicks, Brooklyn Nets and Philadelphia 76ers.
On the other hand, the Magic are part of the Southeast Division and are third behind the Atlanta Hawks and Miami Heat. While they are an extremely young team, the Magic are showing signs of promise and are hopefully only a few pieces away of again becoming a playoff squad like they were before.
The two teams are scheduled to meet three times this year and have already duelled once earlier in the campaign – in a battle won by the Magic when they played at the Amway Center.
Orlando got on to an early lead after the first 12 minutes as they played excellent ball to hold the visitors to only 15 points.
Then they kept the pace and even extended the lead in the second quarter to go up at the half.
Unfortunately for them, the Raptors found their rhythm in the third quarter and outscored the Magic 33-19 to take the lead by five heading into the last quarter.
As an excellent response, the Magic went on a run of their own and scored 28 in the final frame while holding Toronto to only 18 as they came back to win by five, 92-87.
