OS X Yosemite 10.10.1 Released by Apple, Problems Still Persist for Some Mac Users

Apple released the OS X Yosemite 10.10.1 Monday which fixed a number of issues. Users have been reporting an issue with the Wi-Fi on their Macs but the update seems to have fixed that problem. However, not all users who have upgraded to 10.10.1 Yosemite have had the problem fixed and the Wi-Fi connection issue still persists.

While others have been saying that they have not been able to connect to the Wi-Fi at all, others have said that they are able to connect but the connection remains slow. Even when using the Wi-Fi in different access points doesn't seem to work.

Some users have come up with a hotfix that might just work with some – if not all. Performing a clean install of Yosemite seems to work, or running routers in "Access Point" mode, or running a user-created script to restart the OS X's Wi-Fi monitor. The methods mentioned may work for some but there is currently no solution to the Wi-FI issues.

Among other issues that has been plaguing Yosemite are unstable Bluetooth connections, high CPU usage, and Yosemite's Dark Mode on non-Retina display units.

Apple has not commented on the issues that users have reported but they have advised that users remove any excess preferred networks. This can be done by going to the Network section of System Preferences and resetting the System Management Controller.

Though the Wi-Fi issues are still persisting, the update does get rid of the Notification Center bugs, as well as the issue of Mail not being able to send an email to some service providers.
