OS X Yosemite Release Date: Download Link on Apple Website and App Store, Requires 2GB RAM and 15GB Disk Space
Apple's latest operating system for the Macintosh computer has now been released, as announced during the company's keynote presentation on Thursday.
The operating system is called OS X Yosemite and can be accessed through the Mac App Store or by going to the Apple website and clicking the "Upgrade Now" button.
As with the previous OS, the OS X 10.9 Mavericks, the Yosemite is also free to download for Macintosh users. One requirement though is that your Mac should be able to run the new OS.

At a minimum, your Mac should have at least 2GB of RAM and at least 15GB of free hard disk space. While the OS is only 8GB large, users may have to reserve extra space for temporary files while the installation takes place.
The most noticeable change in OS X Yosemite is the new interface. It seems that the new OS took its inspiration from the iOS 7 for the iPhone and iPad. The interface is now flatter and looks more 2-dimensional than Mavericks and translucency has been shared to the Finder windows as well, where previously it was restricted to the Finder menu bar.
The Notification Center has also been upgraded by displaying Calendar appointments, the weather, the world clock, as well as to-do lists.
Safari has also been given an upgrade where it now looks smaller and lighter than its predecessors. It has a minimalist approach where Apple has reduced the height of the toolbars. It's also affected by the translucency feature.
iTunes has also been given an interface overhaul where it shares the same flat look as the Finder interface as well as a smarter navigation features.
