Oscar Nominations 2012: Predictions (PRINTABLE Ballot)

Oscar analysts, yes there is such a position, decided long ago who was most likely to take home the Oscar. While for some that may ruin the suspense, those competing to get the most right guesses are in luck.

The most spoken about film since the Oscar nominations were announced has been "The Artist." While the silent film, which focuses on the career of a silent film actor, seems an unlikely pick to most, analysts have already named "The Artist" number one. Not only is the film predicted to take home "Best Picture" it has also been predicted that it will land Michel Hazanavicius "Best Director."

Who will take best actor? Well don't be surprised if Jean Dujardin, the star of "The Artist" also beats out George Clooney and Brad Pitt although some are still pulling for Clooney. Of course it appears that no film is grand enough to compete with the grandeur of Meryl Streep. Streep is the favored prediction as "Best Actress" for her performance in "The Iron Lady." Some have gone as far as to say that the other actresses, which include Michelle Williams and Glen Close, may just as well have stayed home.

As for supporting actor, the vote has been tossed to Christopher Plummer for his role in "Beginners." Jessica Chastain, is likely to take the female supporting role for her performance in "The Help." The predicted winner for the Foreign Film category is "A Separation" which was produced in Iran.

As for writing, "The Artist" comes up again for Best Original Screen Play and "The Descendents" for Best Adapted Screen Play. Finally, for the award in Best Animated Film, the predicted win has gone to "Puss in Boots."

Of course these predictions aren't as golden as the trophy itself, but they may offer an edge for those looking to win the most categories.
