'Ouija 2' and 'Purge 3' Plot Rumors, Latest News: Producer Brad Fuller Talks Development of Both Titles

Producers Andrew Form and Brad Fuller of Platinum Dunes recently offered some new updates on two of their highly anticipated thriller sequels "Ouija 2" and "Purge 3."

Speaking with Collider, Fuller confirmed right away that a second installment for the recently released supernatural horror film "Ouija" is "coming."

"The film may have gotten a rock bottom critical reception, but Ouija is a low budget production that went on to take nearly $85 million worldwide. From a business standpoint, it makes sense to make a sequel," Perri Nemiroff of Collider wrote.

As for what the sequel will tackle about, the site said that "hopefully," the next one will have "absolutely nothing to do with what went down in the first one and they'll focus more on the powers of the ouija board and the nostalgia of using one."

The other hugely popular low-budget thriller franchise from the Michael Bay production house, "The Purge," was also discussed.

The already rumored "political drama" background plot of "Purge" may not happen anytime soon and this was further debunked by Fuller himself.

"I read that too about the first night of The Purge. We don't know anything about that. I read that and I haven't heard that so I'm not sure what that was. The material that we're considering right now is not the first night of The Purge," Fuller said.

Speaking about the second film's main character actor, the producer went on to say that Frank Grillo (Sgt. Leo Barnes in "Purge 2") may or may not appear in the forthcoming title.

"Listen, we loved working with him and we thought that he was so good in that role and, you know, if it works to have him back we would really be very excited about that," the executive producer added.
