'Outlander' Episode Recap, Season 2 News: Caitrona Balfe Sheds Light on Claire's Actions, Filming for Second Chapter Commences

The latest episode of Starz's hit TV drama series "Outlander" titled "The Devil's Mark" saw Claire (Caitrona Balfe) revealing to Jamie (Sam Heughan) her biggest secrets.

Fans have been wondering what drove the time-traveller to tell Jamie her secrets. In an interview with the Boston Herald, Balfe said that apparently it's her need for "comfort" and her yearning for a "real connection" with him.

"At this point, so much has happened, and I think it's a quest for some solace," she told the publication. "I think she needs comfort. Since the bliss of the wedding, there has been a lot [of trauma] and I think that's almost her breaking point. I'm not sure that she's thinking clearly, but she just needs to connect with him on a very, very real level."

Jamie, on the other hand, was quite bewildered with Claire's statement. Regardless, he believed what she told him.

"Does he wholeheartedly believe it? Yes, he believes her," Heughan confirmed. "He says, 'I believe your words, and I believe in you, in your truth.' He starts to get his head round it, but it's going to take a while. Again, it changes their relationship. It makes them closer, because she doesn't have to hide anymore, and that's a relief for her."

On related news, a report from Hypable also seems to confirm that the show is now moving forward to its second season.

According to the publication, filming for the next chapter will start off on a new location in Scotland. Cast members are starting to report to the set, the site wrote, although the rest of the crew has already been busy at work preparing for the production.

New cast members will also be announced soon.

Filming for the next season is expected to last "roughly nine months give or take," just in time to kick off the premiere episode which is slated to happen in "spring of 2016."

"Outlander" airs Saturdays at 9 p.m. on Starz.
