'Outlander' Season 2: Caitriona Balfe Teases Claire's Difficult Reunion with Frank Randall

"Outlander" season 2 will soon grace the television sets of its fans, and it will feature a complicated reunion between Claire and Frank Randall.

Caitriona Balfe, who plays Claire Fraser in "Outlander," has revealed during the TCA Winter Press Tour that her character's relationship with Jamie will be affected with Frank Randall's return for season 2. The reunion, however, will be a difficult one because Claire will be carrying Jamie's baby, according to Movie News Guide.

Another factor that will make Claire's reunion with Frank is her haunting memory of Black Jack Randall each time she sees her first husband. Claire will be a different woman by the time she goes back to Frank, the report relays.

"There is that reverse thing where every time she looks at Frank, she can't help but see Black Jack… She's definitely not the same woman that left." Balfe explained. "… The difference with this season is there's been time to be in one place and contemplate. Things are sitting with her a lot more, and she has time to consider her place and how she feels."

Meanwhile, Frank will also find the situation difficult because of a lot of new things she discovered about her wife. Tobias Menzie's character has been looking for Claire for a long time, and by the time he finds her, she is already a changed person and she is carrying another man's child, the report explains.

In a separate interview, Sam Heughan revealed that his character, Jamie, will appear to have moved on from his dark experience with Black Jack Randall. However, he will still fight to overcome the aftermath of the rape and torture he endured in order to accomplish his mission in season 2, TV Insider reports.

"Outlander" season 2 is expected to premiere sometime in April this year. More details about the time travel series are expected to be revealed in the next few months.
