'Outlander' Season 2: Claire's Pregnancy Will Complicate Their Mission in Paris

"Outlander" season 2 will see Claire finally expecting her first child with Jamie, but her pregnancy may complicate their new life in Paris and the mission they have crafted for themselves.

Ronald Moore, "Outlander" season 2's executive producer, has revealed that Claire and Jamie's woes are still not over as they will undergo a lot of things that will put their love for each other to the test. In addition, Claire's pregnancy will be a dangerous one and her situation will also affect their marriage in some ways, according to Youth Health Mag.

Based on the new trailer for "Outlander" season 2, Claire and Jamie will embark on a journey to start a new life in Paris. Along the road, they will plan on infiltrating the Jacobite rebellion in an effort to prevent it from happening in France and eventually save Scotland. They will begin by attending parties and befriending the most influential people, but the situation will not be easy for both of them, the International Business Times AU reports.

Jamie, who initially finds it difficult to lead a double life, will discover a side of himself that he had never known before. Sam Heughan said his character will still show signs of trauma from the torture and rape he endured in season 1. However, he will learn the ropes of Paris fast and will be able to master the art of deception, the report relays.

"Season 2 has been about discovering a side of the character I didn't know was there," Heughan said of his character Jamie. "He's playing someone else — he's learning to be quite deceptive, and he does it very well."

Meanwhile, Claire's world will once again be shaken up with an impending reunion with Frank, her husband from her original time. Fans will have to stay tuned to see how Frank reacts when he sees that his wife is carrying another man's child.

"Outlander" season 2 promises more intense and exciting situations for its fans. There is still no official release date for the time travel series, but reports say it will return this April on Starz.
