'Outlander' Season 2 News: Executive Producer Ronald D. Moore Dishes About On-Set Updates

New production updates for the upcoming season of Starz's hit TV drama series "Outlander" were provided by executive producer Ronald D. Moore. Moore revealed how the production team created a whole new set-up for Season 2.

Among the many aspects that the showrunner mentioned is the production design.

"There were really no sets or pieces of sets that we could use for Paris that we'd used for Scotland. We had to build an entire apartment for Jamie and Claire to live in. There are carriages, there are servants with livery, there are props and furniture. It's completely different. It's a whole new show. It will look completely different than season 1," he told Entertainment Weekly.

The new Parisian setting has also affected the way the upcoming season will look like in the small screen.

"Visually it will look a lot different. Now we're in an urban setting. The quality of light coming into the windows in Paris is different than the quality of light coming into the castle in Scotland. So it's a little brighter; it has a little bit more luminescence to it," Moore went on to say.

Aside from the setting and props, the fashion in Season 2 also saw some considerable changes. Moore said that while Scotland is about "heavy wools and more organic colors," Paris "is so completely different."

"In Paris everyone wants to be a peacock. You've got a much wider palette of textiles and colors and styles than you did in Scotland. It's a completely different world," he said.

Meanwhile, the show runner went on to speak about the Season 2 plot line which, as reported earlier, will be based off from Diana Gabaldon's second book in the "Outlander" series, "Dragonfly in Amber."

"I think there's more adaptation. I think there are changes," Moore said. However, he clarified that the story will be pretty much the same and the major characters and scenes are all represented respectively.
