Over at CinemaBlend, the overview plotline for the upcoming Season 2 has been revealed. According to the media outlet, Jamie (Sam Heughan), Claire's husband in this timeline, lives in Paris and will act as some sort of a double agent. He will be looking after the welfare of Bonnie Prince Charlie (Andrew Gower). If the latter manages to amass the funds, a revolt in Scotland will be an inevitable event. The Jacobite Revolution and the Battle of Culloden will eventually happen. However, it seems like Jamie's effort won't succeed and the course of history will stay the same.

"The danger in Paris and Versailles is less physical with swords and weaponry; it's more politics and backstabbing and poison. It's more hidden. There's a lot more politics at work and a lot more danger," Heughan told Variety in an interview. He adds, "Then we go back to Scotland, where we go back to the blood and mud and gore."

Meanwhile, there has been an ongoing rumor indicating a real-life relationship between Heughan and Balfe. The stars, however, stepped out to shed light on the issue.

"We're not together," Balfe told E! "I'm sorry to break people's hearts. They like to try to maybe replicate the Claire and Jamie story. But I think it would be difficult for us to work together and be together."

Heughan, on his part, also set the record straight and confirmed there's no relationship between them in real life.

"Outlander" Season 2 premieres either on March or April this year on Starz.
