'Outlander' Season 3 Premiere Date Set for September
After a long wait, 'droughtlander' is almost over. Starz has announced that "Outlander" will return for its third season in September.
It has been more than half a year since the second season of the British-American drama ended. With season 3 premiering in September, fans will have waited more than a year to see Jamie and Claire again. But there is a valid reason for such a long break, according to Starz President of Programming Carmi Zlotnik.
"While 'Droughtlander' will last just a little longer, we feel it is important to allow the production the time and number of episodes needed to tell the story of the Voyager book in its entirety," Zlotnik said, according to Deadline. "The scale of this book is immense, and we owe the fans the very best show. Returning in September will make that possible."

Production for "Outlander" is still currently ongoing in Scotland. However, they are scheduled to move filming locations in March to Cape Town, South Africa, which will be the setting for some scenes that are set out in the sea. Starz will be recycling their Cape Town sets, which were formerly used for another series, "Black Sails." Production is expected to conclude in June.
As for what the new season will bring to the table, Caitriona Balfe's Claire will have to deal with the aftermath of her return to 1948. To make things more complicated, Claire is pregnant with the child of Sam Heughan's Jamie, and she has to tell her husband, Tobias Menzies' Frank.
According to Balfe, Claire and Frank will attempt to repair their marriage and go on with life as normal, but it will be difficult. With a new daughter, Brianna, Claire has to accept that her life is now back to what it was before Jamie came along. However, fans need not worry because Jamie and Claire will reunite somehow, although it may take a while.
Starz has yet to announce a specific release date for "Outlander" season 3.
