Sam Heughan subtly joked about his new look on Season 3 as his character, Jamie, will be 20 years older than his age in Season 2.

It can be recalled that an older version of his character's partner, Claire (Caitriona Balfe in real life), was already shown at the end of Season 2.

Balfe revealed on her Twitter account that she's not with Heughan on the series' first day of taping.

Her absence does not mean that she's not included in Season 3, though. It just exposes the time difference that they are portraying in the show, thus, their separation in filming episodes.

As the story progresses, Jamie and Claire will be reunited in Jamaica.

Heughan said to Vulture that the new setting, place and age will showcase a "completely different show."

First-Ever ScotCon

Aside from the much-awaited season's start, fans are also growing wild over Scotland's first Outlander-themed Comic Con which will be held at the Edinburgh Corn Exchange next month. This will give them the chance to have a face-to-face encounter with the series' main casts and toss all the questions they have about Season 3.

Daily Record UK reports that ScotCon will hit two birds with one stone. The event will be a celebration of everything Scottish and everything about Outlander.

Tickets for ScotCon are already available online through its website. Payments can be made through PayPal, credit or debit Cards. Fans who have children who are also in love with the series do not have to think about the additional expenses since kids at the age of 14 and below are free to attend the event.

The Series

For those who are curious about this hit series, the story was first set in the year 1945. It revolved around a married combat nurse's (Claire Randall) life who mysteriously returned back to year 1743. She was forced to marry a young Scottish warrior (Jamie Fraser) in that specific period of time and setting. Because her affection for Fraser grew, she eventually got torn between two different men in diverse times.
