'Overwatch' Glitches, Latest News & Updates: PS4 Bug Resets Player Progress; What's New About Competitive Mode?

The Latest "Overwatch" News Brings Numerous Varied Updates

Since its release, the "Overwatch" hype has considerably slowed down as gamers get more into mastering their skills in the gampeplay.

Reset Glitch in the PS4 Version of "Overwatch"
It is understandable that there may be a couple of starting issues for first-person-shooter (fps) games like "Overwatch." It has been reported that there is a bug in the PS4 version of the game that makes players lose their progress, loot and some even have their entire account reset.

Polygon reported that PS4 players have lost game experience, items, cosmetic skins and other items they won from playing competitive mode in "Overwatch" due to a bug. PS4 gamers started a thread on Battle.net to voice their complaints.

The outlet reports that players were told that the bug was fixed, however some still continue to experience it and have written on the thread about the bug. As of this writing, there is no official response from the "Overwatch" team and some players have become irate.

"Overwatch" Competitive Mode Changes
Since the introduction of sniper support Ana, Blizzard released a new patch for "Overwatch" as well. Ultimately, heroes have received various nerfs and buffs in the Competitive Mode of the game.

For the general hero balance updates in "Overwatch," self-healing abilities can now be used to power up ultimate abilities. The following heroes are affected including Ana, D.Va, Bastion, McCree, Lucio, Mercy, Soldier: 76. Roadhog, and Zenyatta.

Kotaku points out that the most adjustments that stood out are for "Overwatch" heroes Bastion and D.va. Bastion's ultimate cost has increased by 10 percent. As for D.Va, her Defense Matrix cooldown is only 1 second but a meter is in place in such a way that if it is active, the meter will slowly decrease and only regenerate when not in use. Defense Matrix full charge will take 10 seconds and will stay active so long as a key will be held. Furthermore, there is a "Toggle Defense Matrix" option for D.Va.
Issues in "Overwatch" Competitive Mode

One of the most pressing issues players have experienced in the Competitive Mode for "Overwatch" is pitting two teams using a Skill Rating. Comic Book explained that this is breeding ground for toxic players as they take advantage of this system to demolish other teams.

The Skill Rating is based off on thep performance of the team as a whole and not by an individual player's skills. This means that while two teams have the same Skill Rating, the other team could have level 100 players while the other team could only have a handful of level 20 gamers.

The "Overwatch" team and Blizzard say that they are looking to address these issues especially in the competitive mode.
