'Overwatch' Rumors: Possible Leak Points to Oct. 10 Start Date for Halloween Event

Halloween-themed cosmetic items may be made available again during the rumored event

The arrival of October means it is almost time for Halloween, and it looks like "Overwatch's" developers are planning to celebrate the spookiest of holidays in style yet again.

While developers have yet to confirm that they are doing anything for Halloween this year, someone over on Reddit has found something that strongly suggests that there will indeed be an event going live.

The post from Redditor "darthchiapet" features links to two images.

One image shows what looks to be an ad of some kind. The possible ad features the words "Halloween Terror 2017" and it also indicates that Halloween-themed cosmetic items are going to be made available to players.

The other image seems to hint that the aforementioned ad should be posted on Oct. 9, a day before the rumored event itself goes live.

Again, developers have not announced anything yet as it relates to a possible Halloween event for "Overwatch," but there are certainly reasons to believe that there will be one for players to participate in.

The biggest reason may be the fact that there was a Halloween event last year.

Known as "Overwatch Halloween Terror," last year's event featured a variety of additions that could really help get players into the spirit of the spooky day.

Several cosmetic items specially made for Halloween were offered to players via redesigned Loot Boxes, including skins that showed the game's familiar characters wearing costumes perfect for trick-or-treating.

A special PvE brawl known as "Junkenstein's Revenge" was also part of last year's event.

Players may just have to wait and see if the rumored Halloween event this time around will bring back some of the features included last year.

There was apparently no end date for the rumored event included in the advertisement.

More news about "Overwatch" should be made available in the near future.
