Ozzy Osbourne has addressed the rumors that he and wife Sharon are separating after 31 years. Osbourne denied the separation and celebrated the fact that he had been clean and sober for 44 days.
"For the last year and a half I have been drinking and taking drugs," Osbourne posted on his Facebook account. "I was in a very dark place and was an [expletive] to the people I love most, my family. However, I am happy to say that I am now 44 days sober."
"I would like to apologize to Sharon, my family, my friends and my band mates for my insane behavior during this period. And to my fans. Just to set the record straight, Sharon and I are not divorcing. I'm just trying to be a better person," Osbourne added.
The two have been reportedly living apart for the past few weeks, and Sharon was photographed moving into a new home in Beverly Hills. Neither she nor Ozzy had spoken directly about the rumors of separation but have remained relatively quiet. Son Jack, however, said that the rumors were rubbish and that the tabloids were not always the most reliable source of information.
The Osbournes have been in the public eye for some time, with Ozzy touring with Black Sabbath, then the family starring on a reality TV series "The Osbournes." After the show ended, Sharon continued on with several hosting gigs before landing on "The Talk."
The family has managed to overcome several hurdles, including Sharon's double mastectomy, Ozzy's addiction, son Jack's multiple sclerosis, and daughter Kelly's seizure. Each time they have come together as one unit and dealt with the issue at hand. Now, it appears that they are somewhat divided, if even just by homes.
No formal statement has been released by their respective managers, but Ozzy has seemingly taken it upon himself to speak for the family.
