P.O.D. and MxPx attend Mark Joseph's Book Launch Party

Mark Joseph celebrated his new book Faith, God, & Rock ‘n’ Roll during a book launching party hosted by Sanctuary Publishing at L.A.’s famed nightspot Club. Live performances from Dex Alexander, MxPx who also sang songs from the band's latest CD, Before Everything and After, and former Extreme and Van Halen frontman Gary Cherone were featured at the party.

Attendees also watched a premiere of a music video for the song “Will You” by P.O.D. (Payable On Death) who recently launched the self-titled album Payable On Death and also attended the party. Five contest winners from "The Warrior Klan” received a chance to meet P.O.D. band members and Joseph.

Many industry professionals and artists attended the event including Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine who wrote the foreword to Faith, God, & Rock ‘n’ Roll and comedian Adam Christing who emcee’d for the event. Famed publicist Michael Levine, author of the best-selling book Guerilla P.R. made a toast and Joseph’s editor at Sanctuary, Lonn Friend, shared comments on the book.

"Very few deep people are able to annunciate passion well. Mark is unique in this way,” said Levine in his toast. “I think he does a great service to the world and to us to recognize that rock and God are not necessarily mutually exclusive.”

“This is a book that will elevate your consciousness, that will rock your world, and keep you connected,” said Friend, former editor of RIP Magazine . "I’m very proud to be involved with this book.”

Guest music artists also praised Joseph and his work.

“I consider Mark a long lost brother, a kindred spirit, a brave soul and a good man,” said Cherone.

“It was really an honor to be in the book. I read our chapter and it’s really cool, “added MxPx’s Mike Herrera who flew in from Seattle to perform.

Attendees received a free copy of Joseph’s Faith, God, & Rock ‘n’ Roll, which traces through the experiences of music artists who struggled to reconcile their rock ‘n’ roll lifestyles with deeper spiritual growth. The book features experiences and information on U2, P.O.D., Creed, Lifehouse, Lenny Kravitz, Alice Cooper, Sixpence None the Richer, and many others, The book details how faith and religion have permeated the airwaves of today's media cultures.

Gary Cherone and Tribe of Judah bandmate Leo Mellace finished the party off with sixnews songs as well as his megahit, "More Than Words."
