Palm Beach Atlantic University Elected Dr. David Clark as Sixth President
Palm Beach Atlantic University, a comprehensive Christian University, trustees voted on 7 July to accept the recommendation of the presidential search committee to appoint Dr. David W. Clark as the unversity's sixth president. He'll begin his service from 14 July, 2003.
"David Clark has received a national reputation by his solid academic background and business profession. He has a combination of experience in academia and in business. Also he has a heart for ministry," Dr. Donald E. Warren, chairman of the board of trustees.
John P. Greene III, Palm Beach Atlantic trustee and chairman of the presidnetial search committee, said "David is a leader and a man of integrity. I'm sure that he has the potential leadership to lead PBA to the next level and make this school the premier Christian university."

Dr. Clark made a comment as he was appointed as the president: "I'm honored to be chosen to serve Palm Beach Atlantic University. PBA is ne of the finest emerging Christian universities in America. Consistent enrollment growth and the addition of quality graduate programs in the past decade are evidence of the unique shared vision by the faculty, administration and board of trustees.
With its Christian foundation, academic excellence and architecturally exciting campus the university attracts outstanding students and faculty."
Dr. David Clark is an educator and a media executive. Currently he is the president of FamilyNet, a commerial television network in Fort Worth, Texas, providing family oriented entertainment and inspirational programs to more than 30 million homes nationwide.
Dr. Clark has been executive producer for a number of award-winning television programs including many which have aird on ABC and NBC television networks as well as on FamilyNet. A recent documentary, "We Shall Not Be Moved" aired on ABC and was nominated for a national Emmy Award.
Dr. Clark also serves as vice president of the broadcast communications group for the North American Missions Board of the Southern Baptist Convention. Before joining FamilyNet in 1997, he was the president of KMC Media in Dallas, a media strategy, production and placement company serving non-profit ministries such as the Salvation Army, American Bible Society and Prison Fellowship.
He has served on the board of the National Religious Broadcasters for 20 years. He is one of the founders of the Fellowship of European Broadcasters and an association that serves Christian broadcasters in Latin America. Also he serves on the board of the Interfaith Broadcast Commission, which provides programs to ABC, NBC and CBS and the board of trustees of Faith and Values Media.
In addition, he was vice president of marketing for the Christian Broadcasting Network(CBN). Before joining CBN in 1978, He served as the founding dean of Regent University in Virginia Beach. He was an adjunct professor at the Institute of Christian Organizational Development at Fuller Seminary in California. He returned to Regent University in 1988, where he served as dean of the College of Communication until 1991. During that time, he led the launch of Regent’s first Ph.D. program.
He spent his boyhood in Latin America with his missionary parents. He received his bachelor's degree form Evangel University, a master's degree in Divinity from Northen Baptist Seminary and a master's and doctorate degrees from the University of Iowa in broadcasting and mass communication research. Dr. Clark has consulted with broadcasting ministry and non-profit organizations extensively. He lives with his wife, Lois in Fort Worth.
