Parents Arrested for Abandoning Baby in Burger King

Two parents have been arrested for abandoning a four-month-old baby in a Jamaica, Queens Burger King restaurant on Tuesday.

NYPD officers arrested and charged 22-year-old Kimberly Brundidge with abandonment, after she left her baby daughter on a Burger King table in Jamaica, Queens on Tuesday night. She is also charged with acting in a manner injurious to a child, according to a police spokesman. Strangely, the father of the child, Kelsey Kendall, works at the Burger King. He was also arrested.

It was Kendall who called the police claiming to find an abandoned child. However, he never let them know he was the father. According to sources, he watched silently as cops and paramedics examined the child and took her away.

He was arrested at the restaurant shortly after and charged with obstructing governmental administration, falsely reporting an incident and acting in a manor injurious to a child. Brundidge also called police that night and admitted she left the baby in the restaurant alone. It was her who told the police that Kendall, the father of the baby worked there.

The baby, who was determined to be healthy at an area hospital, is now in the custody of the Administration of Child Services.

According to similar reports, this is not an isolated incident. Police also found the body of a newborn baby in a garbage can in Washington Heights last month. The mother of the deceased child, Yaribely Almonte, was later tracked down and charged with self-abortion in the first degree.

An abandoned baby was also found in a Church parking lot in a Chicago suburb in October. According to the NBC, a couple found a recyclable bag containing a teddy bear and a towel on their car. They took the bag into the Gospel Presbyterian Church. Someone heard noises from the bag and found the infant. They immediately called the authorities. Miraculously, the baby girl survived and is said to be in good health.
