Parents Have Daughters Arrested for Throwing Alcohol-Laden Party for Under Age Youth

Parents of two teenage daughters called police and had their children arrested after they arrived home early to find a raging party going on in their house.

The two girls, 15 and 16, have not been identified due to their age but attend Glastonbury High School in Glastonbury, Conn., were arrested and now face charges of permitting a minor to possess alcohol.

Local reports indicate that the two teens threw the party after their parents had left for the weekend, but their parents returned home early to find roughly 20-30 underage youths consuming alcohol in their home.

The girls tried to make the most out of their unsupervised weekend and hosted parties at their house on Oct. 11 and 12, Agent James Kennedy, of the Glastonbury Police Department, told CTnow.com.

Kennedy added that neighbors had revealed when questioned that about 15 to 20 people were at the house each night.

The girls had expected their parents to return on Monday and invited more friends over Sunday night and "tried to get another one going" but were surprised that their parents had returned after they did not notify their children that they would be returning home early.

Police revealed that after they arrived on scene the witnessed many children running from the house when officers entered the house. As Glastonbury police continue to investigate the incident they are asking anyone with information to contact authorities.

Given the frequency with which underage drinking occurs, especially within the confines of a home Kennedy said that the parents decision to notify police was "the right thing to do."
