Unfortunately, the Parisians have not had a stellar season overall as they exited the UEFA Champions League despite being listed as one of the favourites this year.

However, they already have a trophy in hand as they are the Ligue 1 champions and are also in the final of the Coupe de France where they face a familiar opponent in Olympique Marseille.

Looking at their domestic form, PSG have been impressive as they have won four of their last five games, with dominating wins such as a 9-0 thrashing of Troyes, 4-1 against Nice and 6-0 over Caen in their most recent game.

They are only missing Thiago Motta in the lineup as he is out due to an injury, and with only a few games left look for the team to put on the pressure and get impressive wins.

On the other hand, Rennes are seventh in the league at the moment, but they still have a chance to climb the Ligue 1 table.

With 52 points, Rennes are only five points behind Nice who are fourth and the UEFA Europa League spot.

They have nine points to try and make-up ground and they should also hope that the teams above them slip down a few points so they can have a shot.

Unfortunately, their current form shows that they need improvement as they have not won in their last three games – only a 1-1 draw against Rennes has produced a point for them.

They will need a big result against the champions.
