Pat Buchanan Dropped from MSNBC
MSNBC announced that they will not be continuing their professional relationship with former presidential candidate and commentator for the network, Pat Buchanan. Buchanan had been a conservative commentator with MSNBC for 10 years.
"After 10 years we have parted ways with Pat Buchanan. We wish him well," MSNBC said in a statement they released.
MSNBC had suspended Buchanan back in October of last year after the publication of his most recent book, "Suicide of a Superpower: Will America Survive to 2025?" Critics have called his book racist and anti-Semitic, according to AP.

Some of his more controversial chapters are titled "The End of White America" and "The Death of Christian America."
The New York Times reports that just one month ago MSNBC president Phil Griffin responded to Buchanan's book by saying, "The ideas he put forth aren't really appropriate for national dialogue, much less the dialogue on MSNBC."
Buchanan responded to being dropped from the network with an essay in The American Conservative, the magazine he founded. Buchanan wrote, "In the 10 years I have been at MSNBC, the network has taken heat for what I have written, and faithfully honored our contract. Yet my four-months' absence from MSNBC and now my departure represent an undeniable victory for the blacklisters."
Buchanan blames the liberal groups that criticize his book for his split with the network. He wrote that his parting with MSNBC comes "after an incessant clamor from the left that to permit me continued access to the microphones of MSNBC would be an outrage against decency, and dangerous."
He went on to paint the groups who are most outspoken in their criticism of his book as unfair, aggressive, and un-American.
Buchanan wrote, "Without a hearing, they smear and stigmatize as racist, homophobic, or anti-Semitic any who contradict what George Orwell once called their 'smelly little orthodoxies.' They then demand that the heretic recant, grovel, apologize, and pledge to go forth and sin no more."
It is clear Buchanan won' be recanting, groveling or apologizing.
