Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellan Post Super Bowl Predications

Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellan shared their predictions for the Super Bowl XLVII this weekend with a photo posted to Twitter.

Millions of football fans are expected to tune in as the Denver Broncos take on the Seattle Seahawks at New Jersey's MetLife Stadium in Rutherford at 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, and the aforementioned actors are no exception.

"Football," Stewart posted to Twitter on Friday, Jan. 31 along with a photo beside McKellan.

Both actors were dressed in different NFL jerseys for the photo, with Stewart representing the Seahawks while McKellan donned a Broncos jersey. Fans are interpreting that the photo indicates each actors' pick for the winner at this Sunday's Super Bowl.

Nevertheless, the British pair held a soccer ball between them in the image; possibly referring their native use of the word "football," the sport which Americans know as soccer. The Super Bowl photo was the latest of several images Stewart has shared with his "X-Men" co-star lately.

"Well Godot didn't come to the tree last night but Kieth (sic) Hernandez did," the 73-year-old actor tweeted along with a photo taken with McKellan outdoors on Wednesday.

It comes as no surprise that the legendary actors are hanging out together in New York City of late; the pair are longtime friends, and McKellan even officiated Stewart's wedding last year.

"Yes, married," Patrick confirmed on Twitter last September, along with a photo of he and his wife, Sunny Ozell, neck-deep in a pit of colorful plastic balls.

While the groom was tight-lipped about his wedding, McKellan was sure to note his contribution via Facebook.

"I did my part," said the 74-year-old "Hobbit" star along with a photo of himself with a "Doctor of Divinity" license and a shirt reading "Minister."

Moreover, McKellan and Stewart join millions of other sports fans who are waging their best guesses as to who this year's Super Bowl winners will be.
