Hoxton's Housewarming Party

It is worth noting that since the release of "Payday 2" in 2013, it has received a generous amount of downloadable content from Overkill Software and 505 Games, its developer and publisher. Over two dozen updates and patches has brought new heists, weapons, and gameplay mechanics. Expansion packs have also been available for "Payday 2."

Freebies Galore

The first day of freebies brought a huge patch for "Payday 2." Players have received two new difficulty levels called Mayhem and One Down. The update also rebalanced all of the currently existing difficulty levels in the game.

The second day saw a new Safe House being given to the players of "Payday 2." Those who have at least a level 25 ranking can now upgrade its different areas. One option is to customize the shooting gallery with a damage calculator. There is also a tool for changing the color of your vehicle, and there is also the possibility of gambling in order to convert any offshore cash into spending money.

Players can then unlock unique trophies for the Safe House in "Payday 2" by completing different daily missions. They can even invite other players in. Actor John Cleese voices the character of the butler, which was put in the game for some unexplainable reason.

These changes in the Safe House have been proven as a popular and welcome addition to "Payday 2." Since the game came out of its beta testing, the publishers have been talking about implementing the said features. It is interesting to see that they have finally integrated the changes three years after "Payday 2" was released.

The third day of the DLC parade brought four masks to "Payday 2." The masks depict famous mobsters from the 1900s period. They include Charles "Lucky Luciano, George "Bugs" Moran, Stephanie "Madame" St. Clair, and Al Capone. There are also four additional mask colors and 45 color sets.

Re-release Details

Many more updates await the players of "Payday 2" in the succeeding days, so it is advisable to check in on the game and the official website at least once a day. The game will also be re-released this week on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One as part of the new The Big Score bundle. The bundle will include all downloadable content released for PC from the game's original release until the 2015.
